Are you new to a leadership position? One of the fun parts of starting a new leadership role is figuring out your style.
However, one of the dangers can be becoming a clone of your manager. Understanding how they approach a problem or strategise a solution is one thing, but mimicking their processes is another and could turn you into a clone instead of a leader.
Everyone learns in different ways. The way I learned and created my leadership style was by having conversations with several leaders who were experts in a range of various fields and industries.
Learning from their wins and mistakes helped me take away knowledge to approach situations in several different ways. I didn’t try to mimic any of these leaders. I blended some of their approaches and made it my own.
Make the time to have these conversations. There’s no such thing as having too much knowledge.
