Help and support vs figuring it out

Earlier this week, I asked you to answer three questions regarding your managers, team leaders, and 2ICs. They were:

Do your leaders know your business vision and strategy?

If yes, are your leaders doing their part to deliver to your business vision and strategy?

If no, what investment have you given to your leaders to get them to where you need them to be, or do you expect them to know what they need to do?

It doesn’t matter if your leaders have been in your business for five years or five minutes. Understanding your business’s vision and strategy helps these leaders understand their purpose.

If they’re in retail, then they manage the face of your organisation.

If they’re in a contact centre, then they manage the voice of your organisation.

If they’re in a support or processing role, then they manage the engine of your organisation.

These are powerful positions to be in, and these leaders need to evolve in precisely the same way your business evolves.

Today’s question is, do you expect them to evolve and “figure it out,” or will you get them the help they need to get them to where they need to be?

The answer could determine how successful your business will end up being.
