Yep, that’s me.

You’re probably wondering how I got myself into this situation.

My first writing job was for a newspaper in Kiama.

Nope. Not The Independent. Everyone guesses that one.

It was called The Local Magazine. It was a monthly newspaper that focused on events in the region. I covered tons of activities, including The Illawarra Folk Festival, Circus Monoxide shows and World Continence Week.

While working for The Local, I submitted an entry for a traineeship at Official PlayStation Magazine - and I won! I was so excited. It was the reason I pursued writing as a career.

Unfortunately, a few months later, the publisher lost the rights to Official PlayStation Magazine. So, I ended up at Ralph Magazine. It was a men’s lifestyle publication that people read for the, er, articles…

I learned a lot at Ralph about the publishing world. But it wasn’t what I wanted to do. When my traineeship was up, they decided not to keep me around. So, I contacted Official PlayStation Magazine and managed to score some freelance work, which eventually turned into a full-time position.

But I was young, dumb and too immature to make the most of this opportunity. I took it for granted and was made redundant after a few years.

I decided to give up on my writing career. I got a job in a contact centre for a local health insurer and made my way up from a sales agent to the Head of Contact Centre. But after 13 years with the company, they decided to make me redundant.

So, I started pwf services. Believe it or not, it began as a coaching business for team leaders and managers. As I was building the website, I took courses on SEO and learned about content writing. I found out it was a skill people wanted and paid good money for it. I began getting work as a freelance content writer and loved it. I would go down rabbit holes on so many different subjects. I enjoyed researching topics and producing content about things I had no idea about.

Today, I’m working with some fantastic people, and I have politely declined work from businesses I haven’t enjoyed dealing with. I am more than happy to write about any topic in any niche, and if you’re a cool person, I’ll even give you a good deal so we can continue working together.

I’m not looking to be a millionaire or start an agency. I just want to earn enough money to keep buying beer from my favourite breweries and the really nice sausages at my local butcher.

So get in touch, and hopefully, we can work out a way to collaborate together.
